This is an interesting topic which appeals to most children. This particular booklet is aimed at eight and nine year olds, and covers some of the facts children of this age should know about the human skeleton. It tells you that bones provide a strong framework which supports the rest of the body and prevents it collapsing. It tells you the number of bones the skeleton has, what bones are made up of, the strength of the bones and how bones work together to make joints. It also tells you about how bone marrow makes red blood cells which help to keep the body healthy.
